New UK Get a Mac Ads!!

These new ads are done by two Brisith comedians David Mitchell and Robert Webb. The ads are basically word for word what the US ads were, but with British actors. These two guys are on TV a little bit. They pop up on different shows now and then, as in game shows. They both star in a small not too popular sitcom/mocumentary type thing called Peep Show.

Here's a synopsis of the Show they're in;

"Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb) are still wrestling with modern urban manners as their continued quest for love and fulfillment is littered by DVDs, drugs and porn. Mark finally achieves his ultimate goal, capturing the affections of Sophie, only to lose her when she discovers he's been hacking into her emails. Meanwhile, Jeremy declares his love for divorcee-next-door Roni, but drops her like a hot potato to embark upon 'the happiest administrative procedure of his life', a marriage of convenience to glamorous American Nancy."

    Ricky Gervais would have been good (?) ...He's too expensive though. I thought the 2nd season of Extras was gut-bustingly funny. Especially the one with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter).... and Ricky takes down a dwarf. And Helen Mirren was in it...(!)

    Apparently no matter where you are in the world Mac users always wear jeans, with a thin sweater over a plain shirt, and generally look dishevelled. Way to go, Apple......

    Good 'ol British-style humour injected in though. (edit: Though not that funny...). Still a massive waste of otherwise useful marketing money, all these Mac vs PC ads... IMHO.

    Actually there's a couple of new ads and they do change the dialogue somewhat eg. the PieChart advert. Generally, I think the newer ads where they may have more input in the comedy seem to work better.

    I preferred them in 'That Mitchell and Webb Look'. In particular 'The Surprising Adventures of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar'...

    Sorry, I posted a duplicate thread, duh. Anyway, I love Peep Show, it's one of the best things on telly IMO.

    sunilraman,

    Probably you never seen it , but Peep Show stands up well with The Office. These guys are cooler than Gervais in UK.

    Probably there ise a US Peep Show version in the works.

    It's not a waste of money. Cheap ads. Cheap Uk actors with cult following. I'm interested to see where these guys can take this (apart from the big fat check to the bank! - Bastards!)
