I'm trying really hard to ignore this possibility because it's too good to be true. There are some signs though, and that scares me.

Plus, as I said in some other thread, Apple needs a product that they can charge a monthly fee for. They've got millions of us willing to pay for services that cater to us. It'd be good for the bottom line....

I'm still leaning towards something more tangible. Ultra-fast hardware. Power4?

Morning Anders, how do you keep on changing your sig (and putting in IMGs for that matter...)

Is anyone else having trouble with seeing the formatting of [QB]? It only bolds the first paragraph for me...

  • Reply 1084 of 1761
I may get some wierd looks. But a while back a video went around for hte "iBrator" it was Flicking hysterical. the website it was on was <a href="http://www.sleeplessknights.com."; target="_blank">www.sleeplessknights.com.</a> . .

Is steve jobs just pointing out a dirty mind?

    You never know.

    Ciao,

    7. This one is big. Even by our standards.

    6. Count the days. Count the minutes. Count on being blown away.

    5. Beyond the rumor sites. Way beyond.

    4. It's like a backstage pass to the future.

3a. To go where no PC has gone before.

3b. To boldly go where no PC has gone before.

    2. Full speed ahead: Lust Factor Ten

    1. Just one more sleepless night.

Hey, did ya'll realize that we're closing in on the 1100 posts mark in this thread?

Quiz to Admins: I'd like to know, what's been the longest thread ever?

Those two are related. My sig is a pseudo sig. Its really in my message. And the reason for the [ 01-06-2002: Message edited by: Anders ]

text is that I keep forgetting that I have to make it in the text.

So what I do is basically to post with my signature on (like this message), slap my forehead, copy the line plus the [img]-thing displayed under this, edit the post, uncheck the sig. box and repost.

well, i just got in to san francisco. but before i left l.a. i was having dinner at my favorite sushi restaurant and my friend and i bumped in to an old friend of his from when he worked on the apple advertising account (the friend still works on the ad account, but i won't go in to detail about him for obvious reasons). i told him about how crazy it was here and how everyone was just going nuts in speculation.

of course, he didn't give me any info (because that's a great job to KEEP), but he said that it WAS GOING TO BE HUGE. now, i doubt he speculates the same thing about steve's keynotes as we all do. but, he made it out to be a gigantic event that would leave us breathless.

not much to go on i know. and this would be a pretty lousy lie if i made it up. LOL. but it got me happy nonetheless. take it for what you will.

You should have asked him if the slogans were in any way affected by us, and when they are made, and if SJ really reads these boards...

The more I read the previous and current slogans, the more I think it points to the iBrator. I'm not even kidding every single slogan has a sexual overtone, and the sleepless night clue is just too far. I am actually getting creeped out by the possibility of Apple coming out with a falic device.

    hey, sex DOES sell...

as long as the stock goes up, I dont care what they make! (talk about typical capitalistic ideals!)

p.s. slogans 5-3b. dont have sexual overtones that I can planely see.

you're right. i didn't think about it at the time. but from the brief conversation he was having with my friend, he does seem to have direct contact with the man. funny you should mention the slogans, i think i might know the guy who wrote them. not well, but he used to be partners with my friend (who was a creative director on apple). my friend actually laughed about me getting worked up over the slogans and said that eric probably just had some junior copywriter whip up a bunch of lines a couple weeks ago. probably true.

Ok, I agree with you on #5 (it would fit though, the rumor sites didn't see this one coming), but:

#4: Just what typically happens backstage at a rock concert?

#3a/b: I don't know of many PC's that go where falic devices (i.e. dildo's) go.

Just my sick mind at work.

    Sorry, sleep deprivation talking.

To repeat an earlier question, did anybody save the HTML pages from each day's tag? Interesting to re-inspect the ALT tags...

Where do you find the ALT tag? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

One interesting thing on both <a href="http://www.apple.com"; target="_blank">www.apple.com</a> and <a href="http://www.apple.com/home/"; target="_blank">www.apple.com/home/</a> the alt text is "just one more". So the earlier alt text was changed. Maybe Steve (he does PERSONALLY supervise every aspect of the company ) didn't Appreciate the implicit complaint and threatened to keep them till one in the morning every night from now on .

    Right, that one's definitely gone.

    But I can contribute one:

The alt tag with the "Count on..." was "Count the days. Count the hours. Count on being blown away."
