People and Things I Hate

OK, so I thought this thread would be some fun. Let's blow off some steam.

In no particular order:

-Slow drivers

-Drivers that are swerving while talking on their cell

-John Edwards accent. It has nothing to do with his politics. It just makes me sick. And yes, I think it's real.

-Mitt Romney's hair

-Those promo graphics at the bottom of the screen, the animated ones, especially with sound effects

-The TV station ID markers that never go away

-People who take up the whole multi-use trail at the local state park I go biking at every day.

-Olives. Green and Black.

-Mushrooms

-That we now have ads for common things, like "Milk" and "Cotton" and "Plastic"

-Prescription drug ads that don't tell you what the drug is for.

-Hitting every red light for 8 miles.

-Windows XP

-My principal's speech impediment. It's not her fault..I'm just saying.

-That my Airport Express drops the network constantly and no one knows how to fix it.

-When Sean Hannity "asks questions."

-Dropping things.

-My hot water bill, which includes heat. A one bedroom apartment with a hot water bill of $125 in the winter. Yeah.

-That I have only about 10 out of 200 channels in HD

-When Hollywood interviewees try to explain to me, in academic terms, why a TV show is funny. <british accent> I do say, the whole affair is a smashing study of who we really are!</british accent>

-Barbara Streisand

-Susan Sarandon

-The NFL Draft. It's socialism. Also, the salary cap.

-Fake tits

-Most of my students' parents.

-People who don't return e-mails within one day

-People who don't return phone calls

-When people use all caps in their e-mails

-People who think e-mail is morse code. "Will see soon. Please give book to assisant. Have good weekend."

-The fact that my school nurse sends more e-mails than anyone in the building.

-People who e-mail everyone and then announce at the optional Friday faculty meeting: 1) they sent an e-mail and 2) tell everyone what was in the e-mail.

-The spinning beachball in Mac OS X

-The little B&W Mac OS9 "clock-cursor" in Mac OS X, which Apple seems incapable of eliminating even after 6+ years of MAC OS X development and a processor change.

-The hourglass in Windows

-When I try to burn a disc too fast, and my computer ejects the blank disc.

-Unibrows

-The Florida Marlins

-That my kids only listen to Rap and Pop

-Brittany Spears

-Jessica Simpson

-Celine Dion's movements (reach for the sky, pull it down! Yeah!) AHHHH!

-The way my ex-wife says my name when she disagrees with me even slightly.

-The middle-lower class Philly accent. Long O, saying "their" like "der", bright As and "hava goo-won"

-That my school's ESL teacher delibrately uses a hispanic accent sometimes, even though doesn't really have one. I swear, one of these days it's gonna be like...(machine gun sound).

-People who RSVP "yes" and then don't show

-Religous people that are the most judgemental, holier-than-though persons to walk this Earth

-The way the MSM portrays Christians.

-Hillary Clinton's actual voice and accent.

-People who have made religion their hobby.

-Trolls

-"Meeting Norms"

-The PUSSIFICATION of our society. Everyone has to have a legitimate voice without dominating or offending. We can not "intimidate" anyone and we must make all persons aware of their intrinisc worth

-White rappers

-Celebrites who think they understand politics and global affairs

-Politicians who don't answer questions

-How President Bush explains the obvious after meaking it seem like he will make an interesting point.

-That commerical for the Little Giant ladder where that enormously fatass guy stands on the ladder and notes its stability, since he's "kind of a big guy."

-Businesses that close at 6:00 on Sunday.

-Dumb cops

-That this list is now out of control.

When I saw the title of the thread, I didn't even have to look at the name of who started it...

Hate is a lot of wasted energy, IMO. I'm scared to ask, but is there anything you like?

    YES!

Your list is mostly petty, and I'm guessing that you well understand this. But there are a few really serious issues you bring up. Personally, I agree most with the bullet point above. People need to be hard. My friend, who's a corporate lawyer in New York, told me that businesses and such are getting geared up for the new recruits that are coming out of college now. They have neen told to be more gentle with them and to use superfluous compliments. Ugh. Our public school system needs one hell of an overhaul, since it doesn't appear that contemporary parents are capable enough to get the job done themselves.

Good observations. I think the following items speak for themselves:

    What does hate achieve?

    Hate is excess baggage.

Yeah, I know it's petty. It's just for fun though. Obviously I totally agree with the other point.

You want men to be the dickheads and women to be the pussies. Such chauvinism these days stems from an innate insecurity. You fear equality, and wish to hold on to whatever advantage you can grasp from your god-given superiority as a man.

Don't be troll. Remember, I hate trolls. The list says nothing about me except about things I hate. It's supposed to be fun, light, etc. Jesus.

Oh, and I really don't mean just men. It affects men more in my view, but it's everyone...it's a culture. And FYI: I have nothing against a strong, opinionated woman. Nothing at all...certainly nothing against equality in the workplace or otherwise. So...how do I put this nicely...back the fuck off and don't attempt to judge me. Shit, I can't believe you're trying to turn this thread into a flame war.

    Wait...yes I can.

I need to add a few things to my list:

-People that can't just participate in a threat without insulting the creator for whatever reason

-People that can't look at a list like that without trying to assign some psyochological sigifigance to it.

I notice that you substituted "threat" for "thread". How does that make you feel?

    Say more about "threat".

Have you ever tried to look seriously into the source(s) of your anger? Ex-wife (why is she an "ex"?)... intolerant of others with opposing viewpoints (insecurity?)... obsessive behavior (too much time on your hands?)...

Even in jest, you took a hell of a long time to think about all of these things and list them. Get away from your television, radio, computer for 4 or 5 days, then tell me things don't look good out there. If you are in prison, I could understand this rant, but otherwise... my god.
