Bolo, basically the ultimate game. When can I find the time to design my own native for OS X? ::sighs::

No, it never hit 1.0 I have a copy sitting on one of my older macs around here... I think it is on the Quadra.

An OS X version would definitely rock, I agree with Mr. Brisby

Anyone want to explain what exactly Bolo is? I really don't want to reboot into OS 9 if I can't help it...haven't done so for months.

Bolo is (was?) a really cool multiplayer tank game that you could play over a LAN. It has a map editor with several different terrains. Your "tank" had a little man who could run out and do stuff like harvest trees, build walls, and build pillboxes.

I used to love Bolo. My freshman year in high school, a group of six of us went into the computer lab during lunch and played Bolo nearly every day. Why not something more intense like Quake? Pffsht! Bolo pwn3d j00. Besides, Bolo could run on the crappy old Macs in the lab.

By the way, some guy *has* made an OSX port of bolo called <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=15237&db=mac"; target="_blank">XBolo</a>. It isn't quite complete yet, though. The map refresh bugs out sometimes when you're driving, the sounds don't always work (and also aren't the original sounds), and the tanks don't explode upon death. Still, it's better than nothing at all. I haven't tried a multiplayer XBolo game yet; so, I don't know how well that works either.
