Mac Mail not cooperating

I have a Core Duo MacBook Pro that, as of 3 days ago, does not want to open. Upon opening to application, it simply shuts itself back down and brings up the Apple Problem Report Submission screen. Any ideas? Is there a way to reinstall just that program. Thank you for any help.

    Have you repaired permissions?



    It might help.



    Are you using Leopard?



    Have you done any changes to your Mail folders?

    Did you try to trash the preferences yet?
