iPhone coming to Canada SOON!
www.microboutique.ca is giving away a iPhone for there 25th anniversary.
They are an authorized apple reseller and service centre here in Montreal.
I doubt they would give away a iPhone if there was no "legal" way to have it work here in Canada and to get service for it in Canada.
I would be very surprised if an authorized Apple reseller and service centre would give away a unlocked iphone.
That would not look too good with Apple.
I think that's a clear sign the iPhone is finally coming to Canada!
The web site is in french, let me know if you need translation.
Thanks.

Oh.... Can...... na..... Da...........
To me you are so.... gullllable......
Besides that though. Rogers is/was Apple's choice as a carrier. Now Rogers won't give Apple the unlimited data plan to go with the iPhone. Otherwise we would have had the iPhone already yesterday. But thanks to Rogers, no way so far..... great, thank you Rogers.
If another carries is able to pull this off, I am switching everything from Rogers to other companies.
First, where is the 'English version' button? They cry their eyes out when there is no 'French bullshit' button on a Canadian site.

There have been other rumors that Rogers thought the back end support for the 1 generation iPhone was too high. But who knows at this point. Interestingly enough, Telus is considering moving to the GSM format: http://www.thestar.com/Business/article/293353

Also, with the recently ended wireless spectrum auction in Canada, there is hope for one or more new entrants into the national carrier arena. If the new player(s) opt for GSM, which it sounds like they will, Rogers will lose their monopoly on GSM in Canada.
Depending on who wins the auctions and how fast they can roll out their new networks, Rogers may have negotiated themselves out of the iPhone contract.
