Let the speculators run rampant!

With the latest buzz of SproutCore, improvements to Safari, purchasing PA Semi, Open CL, Snow Leopard (focus on speed not just more features), a diversified business model in cell phones, home entertainment, etc...where will Apple be in 2013? And yes, we all want an xMac.

    By 2012 there will be a major shift in world consciousness since it is the end of (etc insert New Age predictions here). As such 2013 will be the early years of the new phase of humankind and hopefully soon contact with similar sentient entities (spirits, dolphins, aliens, extra dimensions etc.).



    Apple's position will depend on whether Steve Jobs is still actively involved with it as of 2012.

    Seriously though, the main point is this:



    2009

    2010

    2011

    2012



    Somewhere between a laptop, your big-screen TV, a mobile phone, is the next thing. That's where Apple will be. As always, they lead the pack initially, so 2009 is tablet time. Then everyone else will start to cash in on it. From 2009 through 2011 certainly everything will have some sort of 3G/ 4G/ WiMax etc built in.



    Cybernetic implants, maybe towards 2012. But upgrading it is a bitch.

    OH WAIT GREAT IDEA.

    I don't think that can honestly be answered what apple is going to be like in five years. 18 months ago I don't think anyone expected the iPhone to become a premiere mobile platform. To be honest, I don't think even Apple knew what they had until jailbreak apps came on the scene. Five Years is an eternity in the electronics world. Some directions don't pan out while some major advances come about by near accident.
