Future Hardware regarding MWSF may never be leaked.

I think it's a little odd that the Rumor sites have suddenly stop reporting. Ever since AI's post about the Sahara iMac, I haven't seen or heard anything regarding upcoming Apple hardware announcements.

So, I have come to the conclusion, that Apple is paying AI, MOSR, and ThinkSecret to keep quiet about what they know.

Both MOSR and AI have told us that more info on Apollo, G5's and LCD iMacs would be leaked, but I have yet to see or hear anything. This may be why Apple is making such bold statements on their site.

Just an idea... I don't think it's totally out of the realm of possiblility.

I mean, look at the rumor sites two years ago. At least once or twice a week we'd be sure of having something new to chew on, but AI hasn't posted since the 19th of Dec. and MOSR hasn't posted since the 20th of Dec. ThinkSecret hasn't posted any Apple hardware rumors since the Combo Drive story on the 15th of December....

We used to get excited about stories from the Rumors sites...

Now we're more excited about phrases on Apple's own site!?

Can you remember a Macworld, where Apple.com was the center of speculation??

An interesting concept. If I were running a rumor site, and Apple offered me something for me to keep it shut I don't see how I could refuse. Could you?

Maybe Apple is offering free LCD iMac and G5's to the sites that keep quiet.

Not likely as it would mean lincence to print money by the rumor sites, extortion from Apple really. Apple is just smarter about keeping secrets post-workerbee.

I just can't imagine how Apple can keep something this huge so quiet...

They had trouble keeping the kihei (iMac's first major revision) quiet.. Look at all the images that were leaked...

Now this Macworld is supposed to be even greater, and much larger than anything Apple has done, and not a word has been revealed. Someone knows something, but is under enormous pressure to keep quiet.

If Apple knew that a rumor site had insider info, They WOULD go to great lengths to get them to keep quiet.

    not really,

they could easily enter into agreement.

Hey, we give you $50000 to shut up, if you break agreement you give us $50000. END of story

You just have to send a letter from the Apple's lawyers to all rumors sites...

Saying that Apple will sue them about $50.000.000 (the cost of the media blitz of an expo) IF they release ANY info about the new products.

I just think Jobs has everything locked down and nothing is getting out. Why would you risk your career to leak information to a rumor site? Especially post workbee. Hell, if I was an engineer I'd be amused by our reaction everytime Apple updates their main page. Let them lose their minds.

So then, we are concluding that we will most likely not recieve any new info from the rumor sites before MWSF?

I imagine that AtAT will be updated today - it's been updated regularly. Yesterday was a holiday and Monday was NYE so that makes sense as to why there were no new 'episodes.' I'm very curious as to what we'll see there today. Even if Apple made a deal, I think there would be some kind of esoteric hint or something... Oh well, in a few hours we'll see.

    - today's ep is up now.

ATAT's update is consistent with what we've seen from all the rumor sites lately, which is "Something new is coming, definitely LCD iMacs and probably new Powermacs, but if there's anything more than that, we don't know what it is."

I would be surprised at this point if anybody sprung any big stories prior to the day before MWSF.
