Emagic confirm Logic Audio for OS X this month
Emagic has beaten Steinberg, MOTU, et al to the punch and confirmed that the new version of Logic Audio will be out before we see February, and will be OS X compatible, despite a delay caused by a few unexpected bugs.
I've grown to really like Logic Audio. It's also a version upgrade to 5, so it'll be interesting to see what new features there are.

where did you read that? I can´t wait for it to happen but I haven´t found that statement on their website.
bye.
I read that Emagic confirmed the release of Logic Platinum 5 this month, but that they didn't give a specific ETA for OSX compatibility yet.
The first real Pro Audio App for MacOS X, I´m really excited.
bye.
Emagic's web site is way behind, but I was about to question Belle anyway about where that announcement came from.

Logic 5 will definately be 100% OS X AND OS 9 compatible by the end of the month. They`re just doing the last bugfixes.

not that I´m terribly inquisitive

It`s true. I met them in a local music store during a presentation of the logic control demonstrated on a beta of Logic 5. Lateron they showed me the OS X version. It will come out on one cd with both versions and a usb dongle.
Is it worth the wait, does it run/look good?
etc.
Thank you, bye.

Hmm, it´s out and its MacOS 9 only as of today. So much for "definately" and "100%"

That's what they told me in November. I've seen the OS X version on a TiBook as a beta. Obviously for a new system as X it takes more effort than they thought to get it right. :-(

yepp, you´re right, sorry for my misplaced sarcasm, it´s not your fault.
bye.
Anyone know if all versions (silver, gold, platinum) will be available?
Once this arrives I can FINALLY say goodbye to OS 9.
I am excited

Naplander, back up and read those last few messages. Logic 5 will be out very soon, but it will NOT yet be OSX compliant as promised.
Also emagic.de shows the "version 5" designation on the Platinum page, but not on the Gold or Silver.
I hope Peak is out for OS X soon...as much as I like Logic, it's too advanced for my needs. I record as a hobby, and Peak is the right mix of features and ease of use for me. Protools and Logic are overkill for my needs.
But this is great news for OS X...now we just need protools and OS X's place in the pro audio market will be secure. G5s wouldn't hurt for audio, either.
I know it's an old app and has been dead for many years.
But at least it can do multi track editing......
This app runs suprisingly well under Classic. But very unstable when running under OS 9....strange
