This is a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway, just for the fun of it.
What will be the next OS X version after 10.1.3 ? 10.2 ? or another 10.1.x with x > 3 ?
What are the known OS X bugs still present in 10.1.3 ? Is there a discussion group about this subject ?

Yes, and after that, 10.1.5. I think it just keeps growing and growing like the energizer bunny.
duh?
X XI?
X 11?
XI?
11?
Another big bang?
Ok then. What comes after X 10.9.9?
X XI?
X 11?

Ah, therein lies Apple's big marketing/linguistic puzzle.
They seem to be giving out subtle indications that the 'X' moniker was just for fun, with a pinch of hey-we're-uniX-now hype, and that they're going to stick with the classic numbering scheme: thus OS 11. But who knows.

Even thought it doesn't really make sense, I think it'll be X 11.
As for bugs still in 10.1.3:
- VCD support still broken (ISO 9660 filesystem handling still borked)
- sleep issues still present (not properly waking up airport card in iBook at times; sometimes the iBook coma's instead of sleep's)
- Airport configuration not properly integrated into network control panel (shouldn't need seperate internet connect app)
- Airport configuration options not all present (type <username/password> into password field for Cisco LEAP protocol, "username/password" for 128bit encryption,... should be a radio button or drop down list instead. This is an exremely hacky interface.
- DVD player can still take the whole Mac down if you plug/unplug the AV cable (iBook) while the DVD is playing. Featurewise, why can't it play VCDs like most PC DVD playing apps?
- Airport doesn't seem to reconnect to preferred networks automatically. I have to go into the Network prefpane, and change the TCP/IP setting to manual, then back to DHCP and click applynow before it will even attempt to get an IP from the DHCP server.
I'm sure the list is longer, and other people could add their gripes. This is my recent issues list, which I sincerely hope gets fixed with later updates.
So that might be a hint to the numbering scheme.

I want my Multithreaded Finder!!!! I hope 10.2 comes with one.. I just lost use of the Finder for 15 while deleting my website off my iDisk.
And I'm with EmAn: it's gonna be Mac OS X 11.0.2
So I guess 10.3.1 is next !!!

I am surprised nobody has talked about 10.2 since the 6B11 build, which apparently was done before iTunes 2 was released. I mean there hasn't been any info on it at all. Maybe during Macworld Tokyo they will give us a preview of 10.2, but who knows. Has anybody out there played with any builds that are more recent then 6B11?
As far as the naming scheme, I think they might be setting up Mac OS X to be the new product line and just continue to increase the .x versions. First we had System, then Mac OS, and now Mac OS X. (maybe?) Therefore we would have Mac OS X 12.1. At least they are only taking the versions up by 0.1 each major release so we won't be getting out of the 10.x series of the Mac OS any time soon. After 10.2 I would suspect that we would see major release only once every year or more. Meaning that the 10.x series could be around for a long time. But again this is just speculation.

Nobody is talking about it because they are going to make us pay for it!
If they give 10.2 away again, that would make 10.3 there next pay release. Therefore putting a 2 year gap between OS upgrade revenues, since the people that bought 10.0 wouldn't have to buy another version until 10.3. I hope that instead they charge a minimal upgrade fee, maybe $50 Canadian, which I think would be reasonable for us and for Apple.
JW Pepper: Would you really be that upset if they made us pay for 10.2?

I would be seriously pissed off and not at all miffed about pirating it.
10.0 was hell. I can understand that Apple released it when they did; they needed something out there to push developers.
10.1 was a nice improvement, but it still has serious flaws and breaks in many places. It's incomplete. Period. Unless we get a 10.1.x that miraculously fixes some of the most basic, common bugs that have been around since the Public Beta (too many to list, but keyboard browsing in Carbon open/save dialogs immediately comes to mind) then 10.2 absolutely should be free.
For a company that has prided itself on having a GUI above the rest, Apple should no reason so ask for a paying update yet. Once the OS and interface are working 100%, then they can start adding new features and charging for updates.

We probably won't have to shell out any $$$ until 10.5.
But yeah, it would be great to hear about some new builds of 10.2. 6B11 is SO last year.
