Safari tabs

Safari had tabs yesterday. Today - no tabs nor tab bar. Nothing in Safari Preferences brings back the tabs. Help! How can I get my tabs back?

    You would think. after all the years I've been using computers, that I would be able to figure that out. Damn. Getting old sucks.

    don't worry . I'm young and I had this problem about 10 minutes ago! But then it clued in to me, "wait a minute!" view> show tab bar
