I didn´t even bother to install it on my workstation. It´s just a small bugfix and remember:

if it ain´t broken, don´t fix it!!

I´m waiting for the real thing. The Jaguar! (I have the dev seed but I have a feeling that it will probably give me more problems than joy so I´m still waiting...)

There is a problem with MIDI input in the current OS X rev, and according to Sibelius folks, this is supposed to be fixed in the next revision ( presumably 10.1.5). For those of us who are tired of rebooting into OS 9 to run music apps, this could be a big fix.

Also, I just installed a little update for Sibelius which came out about a week ago (2.1 to 2.1.1), and on the initial startup, it told me to run Software Update because there is supposed to be a MIDI fix available for the Mac OS (suggested to me that 10.1.5 is on the way soon, and will fix the problem).

Well, it looks like it was not released today, but I don't imagine it's too far off, unless they are intending to roll in some other update that everyone would appreciate (like IE or something).

Just installed 10.1.5. Nothing to write home about. Unless you need the specific bug fixes for audio, I suspect that it's not even worth downloading.

Also, I tried IE and still no AA text. For some reason I thought that the 10.1.5 update would give Carbon apps AA text, but apparently it doesn't.

OH NO< IT HOSED MY HD!!!!

    He, he, just kidding.

I heard carbon apps will need to be recompiled with a minor code change to support the AA text if it really is in 10.1.5

I don't remember where that anti-aliased text idea came from anyway except the MS office update comments.

well AA text was/is in the 10.1.5 release notes.

the hold up may be for Microsoft who is due for an Office update to use the new aa text.

    just a guess though

Heh. I look forward to comparing this to my preview of Jaguar, which runs rather nicely on my iMac 450 DV. I just wish they would give us the new cursor sooner than the release of 10.2. I get REALLY tired of that darned beach ball..
