Moved: ichat & icq in osx! will it ever happen?

So do you think anything will ever come of this?

    Considering iChat is more than just another AIM client, I don't know how likely it is that iChat will support other IM networks.



    However, if Apple struck up similar deals with ICQ, Yahoo!, etc. as they have done with AOL for iChat, then I could see iChat supporting multiple IM systems.

    I think this has been mentioned before, but since AIM and ICQ are both owned by Time Warner, will there soon be a merger of the two? It seems a waste of resources to focus on separate chat clients.

    AOL has been talking about having one client to work with AIM users and ICQ Users it would be called AIM still but you would be able to communicate with ICQ users also, much like trillian. I though AOL was supposed to have rolled this out already at least that is what I heard on TV over a year ago.
