How do I know if I have one of Seagate's failure-prone hard drives? Heard the news?

So apparently, Seagate has some bum drives out there that are "just waiting to fail". I personally have a PowerPC G5 Dual processor 2.7. How do I find out if my Mac came with a seagate hard drive?

I still run Tiger. Does the OS have an affect on the failure rate? Is it a Mac update of some that the original Seagate firmware can't handle?

Which Macs are affected by this? Are these hard drives that Mac shipped inside of their macs, or just add-on and external drives? Does anyone have any more info on this development?

Here is the article that explains the situation:

    That article doesn't explain anything.

Honestly, back up all of your data. If you do that, then don't worry about it. Every manufacturer lets a few bad drives slip out, the odds that you got one are slim.

You can tell which hard drive brand you have by going to "About this Mac" in the Apple menu. Select "More info..." in the window that comes up, and then in the "Contents" pane select "Serial-ATA".
