iMac: which would you go for?

MB417 - £990

24"/2.66GHz/4GB 1066MHz/9400M

MB325 - £868

24"/2.8GHz/2GB 800MHz/256MB ATI 2600

Does the faster memory compensate for the lower CPU speed?

How does the integrated 9400M compare to the discreet ATI card?

Sorry, I should have said that the iMac will be used for CS3.

No games, or 3D, or anything like that!

The RAM will definitely make for better performance than the tiny speed bump of the other CPU.

As the OS and CS3 get improved to take advantage of using the GPU to supplement the CPU, the ATI card might give a bit of advantage... Not sure how much of that capability is truly available at this point though.

I'd get the 2.8ghz iMac (last gen?) iMac, unless you're sure you'll use more than 4 gbs of RAM.

Otherwise get the last gen iMac and add the RAM yourself. You get a real GPU and a faster CPU.
