Snow Leopard Dock/Grid View on Items like Applications

I am sure by now you have noticed that icons on your dock application menu in grid view are huge. And though it is nice that they have added a scroll function, my application folder is like 7 pages long. Where it used to fit nicely on screen now its a huge pain. Does anyone out here know how to get around this. I have been looking in /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/ Not sure if it is in there or somewhere else. Help is greatly appreciated.

    I recognize this does not answer your question, but have you tried "list view?" That works very well in the dock for a large app folder.
