iMac - change graphics card?

I have a 2008 iMac (Alu/24") with a Radeon HD 2600 Pro Graphics card.

Could I replace it with something more up to date (that includes OpenCL)?

(While I'm in there I might throw in a larger HD as well and then recover with Slow Leopard install and Time Machine...)

AFAIK you cannot upgrade the graphics in the iMac.

I would not suggest upgrading the HD yourself. Take it to an Apple store or retailer and have their techs do it for you.

I don't see it as that daunting from what I've seen of the process.

With patience, the HDD swap isn't DIFFICULT, it just requires a LOT of disassembly.

The GPU is NOT upgradeable though.... it is an integral part of the iMac's "custom" circuit board.
