Macbook Pro 13" Fan question (owner's answer please!)
Hello,
I'm a stickler for fan noise. My main criterion when looking at a laptop is quietness. (yes, I know, I'm crazy).
I need to know (from a Macbook Pro 13 owner) if the fan comes on at all during very light tasks/idle.
Dells typically have awesome fan settings, with the fans staying completely off until the CPU temp reaches 60 70 degrees C on many models. This allows for web browsing with the fan completely off all the time.
My question is then, does the mbp 13 fan stay completely off (0RPM) when under little or no load? Any idea at what temp it 'starts'.
I'm also assuming macbook whine issues are nonexistant since apple fixed that problem a while ago.
Thanks, much appreciated.

At idle, the fans are typically at about 1200-2000 RPM, not *completely* silent, but so faint that it's barely audible.
