Around 1/3 of the internet use YouTube everyday, we don't need no stinking Flash.

I don't sleep with the sun up, usually at work. I have double blinds. My point is that unless I haver the windows behind my computer it's not gonna work. And having all that light hit me in addition to my screen is just wrong.

What is wrong with giving us another option to use? If the OPTION is made available, I will use it on my iPhone. If you don't want to use Flash, you wouldn't have to install it on your iPhone (if it were made available).

Again, I don't see what the issue is here. I absolutely DESPISE text messaging and have no use for it since I can email with my iPhone. So I called AT&T to disable it. No harm, no foul.

Same with Flash, if you don't want to put up with it, don't install it... end of discussion. But if the rest of us want to use it, why would you support limiting that option to us?

I agree completely too, however what advantage would you have in canceling your SMS feature, other than for receiving unwanted text messages?

You alter your sleep based one when the sun rises, even when it may rise at 5am then? It's useless responding over and over again but my original point was that light in your home or office is something that always needs to be worked with, whether its your computer or any other device or way of living. If you also have windows on every single wall, the sun moving in a mostly two dimensional way, most of the year there's going to be at least one wall with a window that will have barely any direct sunlight showing through. Why would you just complain about Apple's glass screens, even matte screens are effected by direct sunlight, why would you not complain about everything in life that you have to look then? It's the light that you need to manipulate and change. However, if we we're talking about a laptop or something more mobile, I'd definitely have to agree with you.

If I were Apple, this is the point I would use my massive amount of on hand cash to buy Adobe.

The clearing isn't the problem, you idiot! If you read half of what I typed properly then you'd see that it's about the cookies being created in the first place!
    • If I disable third-party cookies, they are not accepted/created EVER!!!

    • The third-party cookies are generally used by the likes of doubleclick and other ad networks (basically any cookie from something other than the domain in the browsers address bar).

    • Flash cookies are independant from the web browser (as Flash is a plug-in).

    • Flash cookies are therefore being created and therefore the tracking happens.

    • This tracking is being used even when I have EXPLICITY SAID "NO DON'T TRACK ME".

Go back under your bridge and wait for the billy-goats!!!

Anyway I am not a flash evangelist, as I said, you can believe me or not, and I will continue to work in the field using the available tools. If flash goes away than so be it. None of that changes the fact that flash isn't going to disappear before competing manufacturers make phones that will do everything the iPhone does WITH flash, my only point here is that consumers WILL care and they will show it with their purchases.

I am not arguing that flash is going away. In fact I stated the opposite in one of my comments. I was merely stating it sucks on OS X, i.e. compared to that other BIG operating system.

That argument doesn't work, as even though I really don't want it on my desktop machine there are far too many sites I visit that require the piece of crap that is Flash!!

Stream hulu for a couple hours and come back saying flash is fine. Flash on mac is awful. That said, no flash on the iPhone can be annoying. I was looking at condos earlier this year and every single one of the developers had flash websites. If no flash on the iPhone does help kill flash, I'm all for it it. If it doesn't, there is no point to not have it especially if it can be disabled easily.

Some Flash video on my MacBook uses 80% CPU (Guardian.co.uk videos and NYTime.com videos are especially bad.) YouTube can be anywhere from 30% or so to 80%).

Under Windows XP or Win7 on exactly the same hardware, using the same Browser (Firefox) CPU use is around half the OS X use. I think the descrepancy is far more noticable on a Laptop when the fans kick in and the battery life plummets as soon as Flash does anything - especially when you have Windows as a reference.

They added MMS to shut up the likes of you who complain every bloody feature that device X has that iPhone doesn't have, despite the iPhone having another 40+ features that device X lacks and if device X does have the feature the iPhone generally does it better anyway.

But it's all a moot point now anyway re:MMS.

Streming anything for hours using anything will mess up anything - and your point?

No, again if you'd paid any attention you'd have garnered some of the reasons:
    • 90+% CPU Utilization

    • Third-party Flash-cookies

    • Annoying noisy ads (such as that friggin' mosquito one)

    • Flash ONLY websites/web pages

    That's why I hate Flash!!

I wouldn't mind having Flash as an option that you could turn off in Settings if need be.
