I wanted to walk out of South Park at a few parts. I really didn't have to see some of the things I saw. But then I reminded myself to just relax and laugh.

Because I scrutinize so heavily on movies I *might* see I rarely end up deeming them worthy and do go see them. I'm way to critical and cerebral about this. I mean, it's a movie for God's sake!

That being said, I see 1-3 movies per year in the theatre. So, since I go to so few movies I make sure I'm quite certain I'll enjoy the film. But, I just don't enjoy sitting in a room with 50 loud annoying people who find it so witty to make sarcastic remarks during the movie to their companions.

I'm more of a home theatre person. Once they get to DVD, I buy them and watch them! So I do like movies, just after I've analyzed them to death in the peaceful quiet of my own home.

I'm to cheap to walk out, I want my money's worth... Plus I make sure the movies I go see are worth seeing... $10 a ticket?!? you have to research now!!!

Edit: ditto Ybot, although those witty comments can be fun sometimes... esp. when you piss people off... thats usually what i do when the movie is bad...

I walked out on a dance performance once. It was horrible. It went on forever. Out of 30 dancers about 4 were good. Plus they were doing this thing where everyone on stage got to do a little solo. I just had to leave.

Pi was a GREAT movie... but thats just me (i didnt see it in the theatre tho...)

Never have, but I've never seen a movie in a theater that would potentially drive me away. I don't go to the movie theater enough as it is.

I've seen these before. I have a friend who's in an amateur dancing group. I was very ready to leave mid-way, but I didn't want my departure to be seen as an insult, so I just stuck it out. . . Oof.

I've sat through some excruciating stuff (film school) because I had to, but I've rarely gone to a movie in the theater where I didn't know what to expect. The only really bad ones I've sat through were my girlfriend's choices, so I couldn't leave even if I wanted to.

I saw LOST HIGHWAY in a theater in Bellingham, Washington where about twenty people walked out of the showing in 7-10 groups. And that was one of my favorite movies ever!

Another vote for Lost Highway! My favorite movie of all time. (Memento gets the #2 spot... it's a tight race...)

Haven't walked out of anything, but I did fall asleep during the Blair Witch Project.

It seems like I'm the only hardcore fan of The Blair Witch Project (I mean the first one, not the money-soaked studio sequel). Everyone I make sit through it breathes a great sigh of relief once it ends and then proceeds to tear it to shreds. I guess I'm weird or something.

Didn't the same guy who wrote and/or directed Pi also do Pitch Black? If so, I'm even more skeptical of that movie because Pitch Black was mediocre at best. I could name 100 other movies in the same genre I liked more than it.

However, the premiss for Pi does sound interesting. Isn't it about an autistic man with an affinity for math who finds a pattern in the stock market which has the potential to make trillions or something? But if it's getting such high reviews here I might just head over to HMV and pick up the DVD...assuming it is available on DVD.

Anyway, I might check it out, I've just never heard that much about it. I can't even recall it ever being released in the theatres here.

Have any of you ever seen David Cronenberg's movie "Crash"? I would have walked out on that if I was in the threatre. But I'd never pay money to see that tripe. I saw it on Showcase (Canada's artsy borderline softcore porn 'film arts' TV channel. They get away with it by showing obscure and controversial movies over and over like 'Bad Lieutenant'...ANYWAY) a few weeks ago. It was pretty weird, and mostly pointless. About people who get their jollies by watching or being in car wrecks. Anyway, that just popped into my head as one movie I'd walk out on.

Holy gadzooks!!! You guys are praising Pi and Lost Highway? *sniff!** I love you guys! *sniff*

I've had terrible times watching David Lynch movies in the theatre... Whenever I go, the crowds are always losers. I saw Mulholland drive, and some dorks in the back row laughed pretty much all the way through... ruined the movie for me. The second time I saw Lost Highway in the theatre (

) same thing. During the moments of greatest intensity/creepiness, some lifeless son of a whore laughed with is lamer friends... sigh.

Pi rocked. The guy who did that did requiem for a dream, too. Pi was phenomenal.

I walked out of I think it was called HELL'S GATE and went across the hall to see WAR GAMES.

"Would you like to play a game?"

And after that, Matthew Broderick's name was well known!

"Breaking the Waves." It was filmed in a shakey, handheld-camera style similar to Blair Witch Project, and gave me motion sickness. I literally walked out of the theater wanting to puke my guts out.

It was supposed to have been a good movie, though. Too bad. Haven't seen any of the Blair Witch moives for the same reason.

I actually DID walk out on this movie!!

I didn't know what it was about and a buddy of mine convinced me to go see it. He said "I think its about who get a big thrill out of car crashes". It was a boring night and we had nothing better to do.

It was so incredibly bad we walked out half way through and demanded our money back. Didn't get cash but got free passes to another movie of our choice.
