New Product Reviews (time frames)?

So I am really looking forward to more info about the Apple TV. I am in feeding-frenzy mode and could read article after article if they were available, although I assume that not much else will be known until product reviews start appearing. And this brings up a question...

Do any of you know, do the big name tech blogs and reviewers get the hardware early to start their testing and usage, or will they not get them until closer to release? What is the normal time frame?

Some of them review pretty close to or at the launch like Engadget and Wired:

The actual box sometimes gets to reviewers early but not always - not so often with Apple products but the launch demoes are usually enough.

Thanks for the links. I had seen most of that, but some was new. Although I guess what I am really hoping for is more in-depth testing in real world environments. Also, the discovery of some new features would be really awesome. I have a feeling that the new AppleTV either already has some features we haven't been told about yet, or that it soon will through software updates. I just really want it to be a great product. I'm ready for Apple to shed the "hobby" label and really blow us away.
