is China UNICOM operating on CDMA? request a teardown of their iPhone

if Unicom in China operates on CDMA, can we get a teardown or do we already know what radio it's using in there.

    China Unicom iPhones are GSM/UMTS just like American iPhones.

    UMTS is also known as W-CDMA. That can cause some confusion. However, UMTS uses a different type of air interface than the CDMA systems found on Verizon and Sprint in the US (as well as China *Telecom*).



    As mentioned earlier, China Unicom uses UMTS/W-CDMA.
