2, Profit growth is useless. it's a meaningless number. It means nothing to me.

    3. Do you know what IT consultant means?. It's a generic term. Dude, buy a clue. An architect is an IT consultant, a Software Developer is an IT consultant. IT stands for information technology. all Apple software developers are in the Information Technology field. Buy a clue or ask someone who knows before you open your mouth.

    This argument has ended.

    1) Talk about dense. I said if Apple released meaningless number I would criticize them. I have no interest in what JP Morgan says. duh.

    2) Profit growth is incredibly important on an earnings statement. Of course it means nothing to you. You aren't expected to to be interested.

    3) I am well aware of what an IT consultant is and does. My company uses IBM IT Services and Kelly IT Services for grunt work (wiring, server maintenance, troubleshooting, but certainly never for development). I know well what their staff are capable of. Some are very educated and capable, most seem to be(some are) hired off the street and given some training. Some developers might call themselves IT consultants, but I don't know why they would. It would have the effect of lumping them in with MSCE's, wire pullers and printer jockeys. No, if a developer is freelance, they are usually simply called contract developers. Your argument would be like a guy at a gas station calling himself an automotive engineer and or a mechanical p.eng calling himself a mechanic. And no, an architect is NOT considered an IT consultant.

None of which explains why you would at one time deny being an IT Specialist (let's use the correct term). If you really think they are interchangable terms, why did you feel the need to say you were not in IT? I told you then, don't be ashamed, it is a good gig. But don't try to make yourself out to be more than you are. I am a software developer and in time I have worked with guys like you in tech support, IT, desktop support, etc that like to say they work for a software company and imply (or lie) that they are then software devs. They are not. They are not peers to the devs. They know that. You know that. I know you wouldn't put on your resume that you are in a software developer position at IBM. I have interviewed and hired contract developers before. They have never represented themselves as 'IT Consultants".

    4) As I said, it is unfortunate when some Apple haters visit pro-apple forums just to troll. But, so long as they can put together an intelligent and honest argument, they have their place. You were perhaps unintentionally honest in this thread when you now admit to being in IT. That is a good start.

This conversation can indeed be over. But, I will continue to note anything that strikes me as dishonest or just dumb. Deal?

Rose 32 percent but knowing how you all think, this is like fictional numbers. They beat analyst expectations. Don't let the truth get in the way of a good narrative though.. keep up the google bashing

That's not true. Android is selling almost twice as many phones as iPhones through out this year worldwide. Android is even outselling the iPhone this quarter, which was the only chance for iPhone to have outsold Android in the year. All the iDevices put together just barely outsell just the Android phones - ~20 million per quarter compared to ~18 million per quarter.

Who was google basing, Wes? People were bashing the meaningless number they put out.

BTW, did you read Apple's numbers today? 70% increase in net quarterly profits, also beating the street. Not that you would let the truth get in the way of your Apple-hate.

    How's the job hunt?

For others I'm willing to whitelist their sites in ABP -- given that their ads are not a complete invasion into the experience and they have a fairly good track record of not having egregious ads (two psuedo-Mac related sites that come to mind are Ars and DF, I also do this for several other sites that have nothing to do with Macs or Apple).

Of course, Flash ads are out of the question, those are always blocked. As are the usual tracking suspects (which is what the EasyPrivacy list is for)...

I never actually click on ad links (why would anyone)? Think about it, why should doubleclick or linksynergy or cc-dt.com know if I'm looking for a new MBP? Why should Google -- of all companies -- stand to benefit financially from that transaction?
