Why oh Why Won't Apple Make This Product

My family has (1) iPhone, (1) iPod Touches, and (2) iPod Nano's that are in constant use. Every time I need to shuffle ports and plugs to keep all of these devices charged and synced. My iMac wiring looks like crap (actually like most PCs).

All I am asking for is a simple, elegant aluminum (or even plastic) dock that will charge and sync up to 4 iDevices at once.

Why oh why Apple haven't you make this already? I am betting a large number of families have my same problem. I am sure it can be done (even if it internally has to act as an USB hub).

Why hasn't this been done already??

Apple usually leaves these products to third parties. A few examples out there are iHome's iB967 and the Chargepod. There's also a Kensington power adapter out there with 4 usb charging ports on it.

A few years ago my wife bought me what you described. A aluminum holder which held 4 iPod sized devices with cable management. It had a small power strip inside that the power adapters could plug into.

They seem to be out of stock but they exist:

I don't think they can sync through it though, which is probably an important feature you want. Seems like a useful device to me - with wireless sync using ad-hoc 802.11n those charging docks would work fine.

I saw those too. They don't sync though. I don't believe Apple allows this type of 3rd party device, because we would have seen something by now (especially since the product posted doesn't sync).

They only charge. Not charge and sync. Not too useful when you really think about it. That is why they are no longer available in most places (clearance product).
