Hi it's my first time posting here so please forgive me if any important information is missing.

My Imac have been running very slow and freeze from time to time, nonstop beach ball whenever I click on anything, just freeze for hours. I always have to turn it off manually and wait for another 30 mins for it to reboot.

I'm wondering if that's because of my memory? I'm thinking about reinstall , i have time machine back up but I really want just music and picture. Is there a way I can just restore these two ? Or do I need to upgrade any hardware?

Ok, here's my IMAC info:

Model Name: iMac

MAC OS X

Version 10.5.8

Model Identifier: iMac7,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03

SMC Version (system): 1.20f4

Macintosh HD:

Capacity: 232.57 GB

Available: 31.47 GB

Please help!

thanks so much!!

My kneejerk reflex is that your harddisk is shot. Try to start up your iMac from the installation DVD holding "C" until the login screen, and then running Disk Utility (from the DVD) to have it check your iMac's system and internal harddisk. It may show you what the problem is. If it doesn't it's time to take your iMac in to the Apple Tech people (if you want it fixed).
