I saw someone here in New Jersey riding a bike similar to that. Very weird looking contraptions. I normlly rie aabout 30 milles per day on my "traditional" 12 speed MT bike.

Why not a real bike?

my employer changed, so my way to work was a lot longer than before. before I went to work with train and bus. the new place didn't have good connections with the bus, so I bought myself that new bike.
I think I'd lose my nerve going up and down steep hills in that death-trap of a bike.

yeah, you're right about that. hills are the absolute pain. if it's flat, it's perfect. but if it goes up...

No I mean why a recumbent bike? Why not a regular bike you sit on and lean forward and ride in a normal way?
