yeah!, I have a similar problem. I have exactly 267 cd's with win 95/98 games on them. All the great classics, Asteroids, Oregon Trail, Civilization II, the sims, myst, monopoly. nothing to do with them, but it seems like such a waste to throw them out, such good games!!, memories of days spent playing them without a clue to what was happening in the actual game(i was like 7). great classics. . . guess i will hold on to them, and then in like 2020 i will buy an ancient machine for like 10 bucks at a garage sale and play away.cool that sounds like fun when i'm older.
I traded a bunch of my old CDs for an excellent CD burner in August of last year. I gave this guy just about everything useful that I personally had no use for anymore. Mostly stuff that wouldn't be updated for OS X. The guy I was trading with didn't seem to mind.
In the end, it took a few weeks to get all the shipping done and everything.
The day after my CDs arrived, they were covered in debris as the his apartment was gutted from the collapse of the World Trade Center just a few feet down the road.
Just last night I spent an hour going through the years of computers worth of CD's and documentation!
I felt awful when I realised how much damm paper I had to throw away! ! 100's of usless multi-lingual things etc!
Shite it seems such a waste too, I have around 10 usless phone type cables and adaptors that came with my various macs/Pcs, and 100's of floppys etc that just are not used!
Heck I even have usless peripherals that I bought used a few times and then outgrew (USB hubs, Palm stuff, phone stuff etc)
I wonder if anyone wants to buy windows 98 unused still boxed, or works 4.5 or heck even OS X.0 hmmm...
Comments

i get them normally with the software.. err, in html etc so no prob
if i find no use.. i give them away to someone who could use them

There are many, many charities out there who would gladly welcome what would usually be considered a totally useless and obsolete computer or app.
Please consider it. You'll feel better about yourself and help people in the process.

<strong>Personally, I believe the absolute best way to get rid of old software and hardware is to donate it to a charity.
