Have you talked to Mr. Mathlouthu?

Okay let me be honest with you: I think the reason for the boycott is that people in the middle east have seen that US has been supportive towards Israel even in situations where it has been working against all efforts for peace and a fair solution for the palestinians. We can talk about Arafat and corrupt leaders of arab countries but that doesn´t change the image of Israel as treating the palestinians wrong. And It has absolutly nothing to do with Sharia law in US.

Please say if you think your translation of Mr. Mathlouthu above this is fair or not. I´m really interested if you really think that is what he meant.

    You make some great points,

I would only say that while I do realize both sides of this middle east conflict have made mistakes I am only saying with this thread that I find it sick for people of any background to cop out and take advantage of human hatred of any sort for gain. If the cola was named "peace cola" I would have a better respect for it. The issue I bring forward is simply that I think it is bad and "evil" leadership to extend ill-human will towards others. True leadership is leadership that works to resolve differences not to extend the differences. I respect the free market and the choices of consumers the world over. That is a given. The only issue I bring to the table is how some serve only to divide people worse in an already troubled circumstance.

    Thanks for your reply.

As far as what he ment,,, That is truly a great question. I do not know for certain. I do suspect that he would prefer for Islamic law to pertain to the US. If that is not indeed the deal I suspect he would prefer that the US not support Israel. That also is not a wise choice for the US to choose. If the US did not support Israel I believe that there would not be an Israel with Jewish residents. To me that is a sad thought to even imagine. I believe the world should strive for pluralistic civilized mutual existance.

    With Respect,

"Coca-Cola has dismissed Mr Mathlouthi's move, saying he had "identified a commercial opportunity which involves the exploitation in Europe of the difficult and complex situation in the Middle East"

Ouch. Coca-Cola must have some good writers. I think they might-have hit the nail with the head so to speak. If Arabs want to fight 'the man' (which is fun to coin), then so be it. Heck, more Red White and You for us.
