...has made monumental strides in light pollution reduction technology.

...goes to bed earlier than South Korea.

...was photographed moments before a big surprise birthday party for Kim Jong-Il.

...has genetically re-engineered its population for night vision.

...is trying not to be seen.

tree or no tree, nk may not have the economy to support a power infrastructure... maybe they do need the nuke plant or maybe not...

they lost something like 2 million people over the last decade due to starvation... electricity is secondary to survival...

anyway, maybe the government is filled with hungry people who get confused readily

food for sanity program?

iirc their nuclear plant is designed to provide electricity only to that facility, it doesn't do a damn thing for anywhere else.

and yes, that's N and S Korea. you can see the 36th parallel real nice at night there.

found this one one of NASA's pages i think. had a whole world map, i just thought the difference between the two countries was amazing, especially since they were almost the same just 50 years or so ago.
