I wonder how many iPods were broken during the making of this commercial? Haha. I really like it though! It's what they need to get the younger ones that don't have iPhones to get one, it grabbed my attention and I kinda want one, even though I'm getting an iPhone 5.

So when do the lawsuits drop????
My daughters 4th Gen iPod Touch lasted a week before she dropped it, and the screen shattered...
I didn't see any fine print saying "Do not bounce your iPods"...

They don't have people bouncing them. They have them bouncing on their own, really dancing, and it's from very short distances. If Apple didn't sued because you couldn't hand your iPod over to your shadow to use I think they are safe on this front, too.

Rubbish ad. No class. Just noise and flashing. Will obviously go down a treat in the US teenager's mind. All it tells me is that whatever it's advertising, I don't want one.

I don't understand what the word "colorways" means.  Is it implying some kind of path or palette or something?  Shouldn't the sentence read "the variety of colors now offered" or am I missing something?

EDIT: Okay, I looked it up and now understand what it means. It seems a rather pretentious term, definitely "marketspeak" rather than an actual word. It also seems like perhaps just a bit of a stretch or exaggeration in this context, as, while not explicitly stated in any so-called "definition" of the term, it seems to imply a consistent palette across a range of products or an offering of combinations from within a certain palette, neither of which apply in this case.

I added all that because I couldn't find a way to just delete the original post. Is there a way to do that? I try hard, but land sakes alive, I'm just not that bright.

    1) Colorway is the best term to use as it not only means more than one color but colors within a select style or grouping. It's quite ideal. It only sounds pretentious because you're not familiar with it. Pretentiousness in writing should only come from the idea put forth not the words used to convey an idea, so long as the writer is using the term in context.

    2) No way to delete, only edit. You can just edit it with a (.) period or write deleted.

It's an iPod Touch ad. For what I assume is the target audience I think it's excellent.

I agree. Those fluorescent Easter egg iPod Touch colours are ghastly.
And yes they will scratch up.

It is pretentious for AI to use the term here when they could just use "colors." Not only is it marketspeak, it's dissonant and therefore unattractive marketspeak. Colors don't go snywhere, so how can they have "ways"? It's the kind of commerce jargon that writers should avoid, rather than borrow as a fetish to make their story sound more businesslike, which is what seems to be going on here.

Pretentious is exactly what it is.

I've never owned an iPod before, well, with the exception of the original Touch. I'm thinking about buying one of those nano's. Great for the car, and it has that FM radio for local radio shows, which is very appealing to me when walking around. Now l need to compute how many songs I can load on that thing in Apple Lossless.

Thanks! I suppose thinking before I type is also an option, but since jerking my knee is the closest I ever get to exercise (I even had to look up how to spell that word) it's probably important to my health that I continue to spout first, ask questions later! :)
