Sculley? Surely you're not talking about that guy that drove Apple into the ground. No one cares what he has to say, and should go back to selling sugar water.
Chris
Yep that Sculley. Though he did say with Cook being CEO and Jony Ive being the product guy Apple's in good hands. He didn't mention Forstall by name but gave the impression he was pleased with Cook's recent management changes.
I'm not trading my iPhone 4 in anytime soon. It still does the majority of what I need it to do as well as I need it to do it. Would I like a little faster Internet? Sure, but it's not my primary browsing device, I just use it to get quick information on the go. This is one of the reasons I hate the 5's 4-inch screen. Mobile phones should be getting smaller, not larger.
But I recognize other people have different needs. Just like not everybody needs the latest features or technology, especially when it means potentially entering into a new two-year contract. And I certainly don't see it as compromising the iPhone experience. It runs OS 6 extremely well. Sure you can't take panoramic photos, or use Siri, but that's what choice is about. I don't know anybody who relies on Siri, but if you want that then its available, for a price. FaceTime over cellular is a nice option too, but if you don't use it, what difference does it make?
Once you make a determination about whether you want LTE or not, most of the rest of the decisions are really about OS 6. You just look at this chart, make your choices and pay accordingly. And not everybody needs the 4S or 5 features. In fact I would say MOST everybody could live without them.
I loved my iP4. Gave my nearly flawless iP4 to my sister a week ago after using my new iP5 for a month. I still think it's a great design and I prefer the durability of the glass panels as opposed to the aluminum my iP5 is made from. However, on the flip side, the thinness and light weight of the iP5 makes the iP4 seems like a brick.
I love the 4" screen. It's only slightly larger than the iP4 screen, but still a one-hand-use device. They really did a good job on it. 4G/LTE is great.
I love the 4" screen. It's only slightly larger than the iP4 screen, but still a one-hand-use device.
Again this is a matter of perspective. I have relatively large hands and I find the 4" screen much less comfortable to use. I have to shift the phone awkwardly in my hand in order to reach the top left with my thumb, when holding in my right hand. It just isn't as easy to use with one hand for some. And, I don't see the added benefit of making that compromise for the minimal amount of added screen space. The extra screen height or width makes absolutely no difference in my use of the phone, and I find the added vertical space just bizarre with some apps. Then there's the fact that it doesn't fit in my jeans like it used to. Again I'm not small, but the phone fits uncomfortably in my front pockets now and does not sit securely in my back pockets, shirt pockets and some jacket pockets. All I'm saying is it's not for everybody.
I was thinking about all the trolls, seems a lot better than "modest" ROFL oh and iPhone4 is sold out!!!! , does that mean its too complicated to manufacture for Apple deliberately keeping inventory low BS, of course not. , oh duh, where are the trolls now, evaporated as usual. that along with Cramer saying that Apple is a buy , just watch the stock test 705 again, just in time for all the fund managers to start their cyscliovcal "Dump and Diss" then "pump and dump" a few weeks later, so they can make their quotas.
DISCLOSURE: I'm Long and accumultate on dips (very oaccasionally sell on highs, buy on dips)
the majority of the Android phones are mainly used for phone calls, text, facebook and maps, that's about all, the web broswer, mobile purchasing and mobile apps belongs to iPhone the internet traffic data proves this. Most Profits follow iOS.
As Microsoft gears up for a 2013 update to the Xbox platform, we are surprised to see that the original XBOX product is outselling the XBOX 360!
This is based on our channel checks which indicate that when trying to purchase an "classic" Xbox, all retailers indicated they were out of stock which clearly shows a much stronger demand for the 11 yr old original Microsoft gaming platform.

You won't see any negative comments on here. Tallest Skill censors anyone that would shed a negative light on Apple, even if it is the truth.
Take this article for example. Apple refuses to put out iP5, load or iPad Mini sales figures. But some analyst knows? All the articles on this website show nothing in the way of unbiased reporting. That and Tallest Skill have done a great job of making this place worthless, unless you just love reading Apple propoganda.
I am not believing the iPhone 4 is sold out, i think it is the service providers forcing customers to other product when they come in and ask for the free phone, they tell them they have none in hopes they buy one that they actually have to pay for. The Service providers are not pushing apple products they are pushing everything else only when the person demand an Apple product do they give it to you.
If that the case then fu#k those salesmen. I also notice that every time I go to wireless stores to ask for the iPhone, the salesmen there always try to sell me something different, mostly Samsung phones. I guess because of better commission they get from Samsung.
I really hope the success of the 4S has more to do with the form factor than the price. Given that it is essentially a smaller version of the 5, running all but one major feature of iOS 6, with a slightly slower processor and lacking only true LTE, I'd like to see an update next year to the A6 and LTE radio, and ultimately focus resources to make it smaller, rather than bigger like the flagship 5, while setting out a clear product line. Drop the 4 next year, move the existing 4S down to the free phone, upgrade the current 4S where it is (4S+), introduce the iPhone 5S. In two years, maybe move the 4S+ down, redesign it making it smaller for the current #2 Spot (5 mini?), and introduce the iPhone 6 flagship. If you want the 4" screen, you pay a premium every year -- you don't just automatically get it for a discount by waiting a year. And really, how is this any different than the declining iPod product line? Different sizes for different needs.
right there with ya regarding the 4S... I personnally do not care for the 4" form factor. I like the smaller form factor for jogging etc.
I am curious to see how durable the that case is. My 4S is same as new... its a rock.
IMO-
4S+ LTE go with a tad thinner glass ala i5 to lose some weight.
IMO they are leaving money on the table without a 4.5/5" inch phone(not that I want one but others do).

I think you are right about the Samaung commission. There was a breakdown of their advertising, marketing and sales expenses that showed they were exponentially outspending everyone else, including with sales promotions. Can anyone confirm if and how much Samscum might be paying to individual sales people?

It was one of the original reasons Apple got into retail: they used to be entirely at the mercy of retail salespeople at the big box stores (CompUSA, Best Buy) who would push Windows PCs over Macs. It isn't always about commissions: sometimes it's just the individual preferences (or in some cases, prejudices) of the salespeople.
the majority of the Android phones are mainly used for phone calls, text, facebook and maps, that's about all, the web broswer, mobile purchasing and mobile apps belongs to iPhone the internet traffic data proves this. Most Profits follow iOS.
You don't really seem to know what you are talking about. People do not decide between iOS and Android according to "I text more or less". There are other factors that are a WAY bigger difference. The OLD iPhone costs as much as one of the most advanced and spread smartphone right now (S3). Anybody who does not like iPhones only because of brand, or other extremely subjective factors, will not hesitate for one second to pick up an android, after comparing what those two phones actually can do.
Furthermore I find it hillarious how you basically name 80% of the things that make a phone a smartphone (calls, text, social sites, navigation) and continue with "but apart from that". And of course web browser on a big android screen with full flash support is a much better experience. Mobile purchasing has nothing to do with which OS you have, unless you are stressing that many free Android apps are paid on the Apple store... so yeah, more money is going that way.
We need to stop pulling stuff out our behinds in order to convince ourselves that certain things we don't like to hear, don't exist. If you want to argue, focus on the things we are actually winning at and stop make us look like some japanese mad guy found on a remote island who still thinks he's fighting WW2.
One of the things that could slow the S3 menace down for example, is the sudden Death syndrome - that somehow seems to appear, right on time for christmas. That is a big issue. Do you really want to buy a phone, not knowing if and why it might just break down and never wake up again, any moment? Or worse, what happens if the guarantee has expired after a year (or is it two years?). This is a big problem for Android's posterchild right now, and they are trying to keep it under wraps by "charming" the customers by exchanging the broken phones immediately, no questions asked. But we will hear more from that!

But honestly.... if they have limited capacity to build phones, and limited people, and more money is made on the iPhone 5....
If I am Apple/Foxconn i am putting my people on making iPhone 5s, letting the 4 inventory levels run a lower.
Here comes another of my bad analogies...
Reporter walks into McDonald's and orders a Fish sandwich, and is told they are out of them. The clerk offers a burger instead.
The next morning, the New York Times reads "McDonald is selling more fish sandwiches than hamburgers."

Not that this comment will be allowed.
xuseplla, I found it quite funny that I wasn't the one to delete that comment. Just saying.
Also, one "L".
