How do I remove anti-glare film from CRT?

The anti-glare film is beginning to rub off on my 17" AppleVision monitor. It's really spotty and it's to the point where I'd like to just remove it completely.

Do any of you have any suggestions on how I can "rub off" the anti-glare film without scratching the underlying glass??

I know I can get at least another 6-months of life out of this great classic monitor.

Thanks in advance for any help!

did you try goo gone? it worked great for taking the filmy residue off my back window when my tint peeled off.

Has anyone tried using GooGone on a monitor? I have some here, but I'm wondering if it will hurt my monitor in any way or make it worse.

    Any thoughts?? Thanks!!

Well, the tube is glass, which is usually pretty tough. Should be ok...
