iMac 800 sleep problem

The new iMac is wonderful but OS X is taking some getting used to, although I am starting to like the Dock. However, at least twice now my iMac has refused to wake up from sleep mode. This occurs after long periods of inactivity, e.g., overnight. My settings are:

screen saver activated after 5 minutes

system sleep after 20 minutes of inactivity

separate timing for display sleep unchecked

separate timing for hard drive sleep unchecked

wake and other options unchecked

When it refuses to wake from sleep the only option appears to be to unplug it from the wall, which I don't like doing. Any ideas? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

hmm, sounds a bit unusual. have you checked out apple's boards? a lot of times if something is a relatively common problem, other people will have posted it there.

well, i went through and looked, and didn't see anything.

sorry, hope someone else can help you a bit more than i did.

Which apps, if any, are you leaving running when the iMac goes to sleep?
