Help with users, and root

O.K. so I was messing around with adding new users, and I have one question. When I deleted a user account it moved that users folders into a folder named "deleted user" on the users folder of my hardrive. I tried to delete this but I recieve the message " cannot delete folder owed by root."

Am I not able to delete this at all? How do I login as root, or do I just need admin privileges?

Sorry if these are dumb questions. Thanks in advance for any help.

pop open net info manager and enable the root account. then log out and log back in as root. It is always a good idea to disable (but not delete) the root account when you are done using it.

O.K. I opened netinfo manager, and I see the root account but I'm not sure how to "enable" it. Again, sorry for newbie questions, and thanks for the help!

I dont mind your questions at all. I dont have an OSX machine in front of me right now (stupid Win2000), but i believe in one of the menus you will find what you are looking for.

One easy way is to copy the password field from a user that you use quite a bit so you know the password of course. Copy this into the password field of the root user. It will show up as just a bunch of scrambled letters but dont worry about that.
