Installation problems. Please help :)

Hey, i recently formatted my HD's, and redid the partitions. I stuck in my OS 9.2 cd, and when i tried to install, it said it couldn't with my computer configuration or something. So i just went ahead and installed OS 10.1



When i go to software update, it says my system is updated! What's going on?

    Go to the Apple menu and select about this mac. What version does it say you have?
