I disagree. Glass in its current form isn't going to set the market on fire, but computerized glasses are definitely going to be popular in the future. They are probably going to replace phones as we know them.
I don't think these things will take off until they can be made into contact lenses.
Exactly. Apple is waiting for Sammy to show them what NOT to do.
Laughed until I remembered that this is exactly how Apple operates: wait (for years) and watch everyone else fail, then come up with something that does it right.
If AppleInsider continues to whore their website to Samsung articles I predict a steady defection of readers. I've already removed it from my Feedly account...
Go ahead and do what you want/need to do, and spare us the posturing.

They're trying to increase site engagement which drives revenue through ad impressions. It's not journalism.
If reading Samsung articles is bothersome, don't click on the links. Pretty easy solution. It's the same advice that should be taken by anyone who is irritated by something they come across on a website ... no one is holding a metaphorical gun to your head, forcing you to read the article. Life's too short to be upset by perceived "link whoring," or whatever you want to call it!

So a site called "NewMothersSupport.net" should have postings exclusively about being a new father?

If you don't think it pays to keep track of what the competition is doing, then I don't know what to say. To call it whoring, calling that a stretch is saying it mildly.
The Bloomberg article doesn't even quote the Samsung Exec as referencing or implying Apple as a cause for their return to this market.
No one can make Google Glass good, the whole concept is stupid.
Unfortunately, Samsung advertising and marketing has been very creative in the past few years. I suspect fans of Samsung will wait in line for a $1,500 pair of goggles that do very little since they wait in line for "smartphones" that do very little.
?We?ve been preparing the watch product for so long,? said Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung?s mobile business. ?We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.?
I bet you Samsung got some prototype smartwatch ready but waiting for Apple to release their first to see how people react to the product. After that Samsung will make changes to their own smartwatch. It like monkey see monkey do.

Why not? New mothers can read it and teach the fathers.

How the heck many of us go out and "teach" anti-Apple fanboys about what their products are doing?!

Wha? Which article did you read that would cause you to think this?
I just don't see the problem of learning what Apple's competitors are doing. We can say that's a cool feature or just pan the idea.

Does that actually have any effect? Opinions of the anti-Apple contingent seem based on ignorance and acceptance of competing propaganda.

I remember seeing this at CES a few years ago... probably just building on top of this by adding android, newer tech etc.

Not sure what kind of interest this will generate... honestly, I don't see what kind of functions this will introduce that a smartphone cant...

Everyone is a whore to someone else, or in the words of Bob Dylan: "you're gonna have to serve somebody."
The important thing is to use protection so you don't catch something from the Samsung articles.

Samsung as been making advanced watches for years now.
It has never become popular.
However, Apple's fanboy customer base may make these watches popular.
And once a device becomes popular Apple will no doubt sue other manufacturers with similar devices.

Quite simply because they're just as good if not better technically, cheaper and you don't have to get involved in the whole brand whore fanboy thing.
