ATA 133 controller cards....worth it?

I was told by someone that installing a ATA 133 controller card (replacing the ATA 66 one) would show an increase in speed for ATA 100 and above hard drives.

Then someone else told me that I wouldn't notice any difference...

So what's the scoop? Anyone know?

You should notice a speed increase. The speed increase will depend upon what you are doing with your system- ie. if you do Video Editing you would notice it.

Hint: more INFO would be appreciated.

looks good, but for what do you need an ATA-133 controller ?

I just got this hard drive:

    [quote]

WD WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 120GB 7200RPM EIDE HARD DRIVE MODEL # WD1200JB - OEM, DRIVE ONLY

    Specifications:

    Size: 120 Gigabytes

    Interface: IDE ULTRA ATA100

    Seek time: 8.9ms

    RPM:7200

    Cache 8MB

and I was told that the ATA133 controller would help this hard drive perform as close to it's specs more than a ATA66 one would...

Yeah, but that HDD is only an ATA/100 drive because ATA/133 is pretty much no faster. Of course the benefit of ATA/133 would be the ability to use HDDs larger than 137 GB in size.
