I heard he used a PowerBook too, but I wonder if he'd keep anything even remotely critical on it.

I can just see him getting mugged while walking by the Apple Store by his place - and their hardware release schedule for the year is out!

[QUOTE ]In keynotes past I kept getting the idea that he really didn't know his way around the machine.

    Where'd that comment come from?

What exactly is so amazing about that signature with Radiohead? Don't American or Japanese Airbags save lives too?

    Weird.

I doubt he'd have anything important on a Powerbook that he brought with him in public.

You are all wrong everyone knows he uses a Palm.

Of course it has a mini airport card and runs "Pocket X".

I wouldn't be surprised if he used a Cube. Since he does like "cool computers."

Actually I can confirm what Steve has on his desk. He's got an iWalk sent to him by the editors of SpyMac, hooked up to a Dodecahedron G5 given to him as a Christmas present by Ryan Meader. Oh, and a customized Flower Power iMac on there too.

I think I read somewhere that Jobs is currently using a Timex/Sinclair with the 16k memory add-on and cassette tape storage.

I'm pretty sure he would use a PowerBook...still the sleekest thing coming out of Cupertino.

This thread is way off the topic of "future hardware."

If I were Mr. Jobs, I would just have a G4 (maybe Quicksilver, maybe not) with the Cinema display on my desk. I might not use it, but it could come in handy once in a while. Maybe a new iMac now that they've come out, instead. Depends on if I've had time to change things. And one Powerbook for stuff here and there.

But mostly, I wouldn't be too concerned. I'd be surrounded by computers most every place I went, and I'd have assistants for alot of things.

I'd probably be happy to use a legal pad, some really nice pencils or a good pen, now and again.

And if Steve were me, he'd have a comfy reading chair away from the desk. Maybe a modern wingback. Desks are a power thing, but cozy chairs are just where it's at.
