If you crank up edge detection in say, Photoshop, you can spot manipulation and blending of pixels more easily. I competent pixel peeping artist could create a fake that might pass that test. As for artifacts around the "iPhone" text, that can be the result of JPEG compression.
It is possible that Apple is planning to replace 4S in the next iteration to have all iphone models supporting LTE(iphone5, 5S and 4S replacement for low cost LTE phone).

What do people in third-world and developing countries care about LTE? They can't afford that.
You're kinda all over the place on this one IMO, but I would point out that as you yourself note, the iPad mini caused rather huge cannibalisation of the iPad (regular) market.
I would also note that the iPad mini actually solves a lot of problems that the larger iPad has (weight, size, and therefore portability), and is in many ways a better product than the full sized iPad, so the idea that a smaller iPad is actually comparable to a cheaper iPhone is not really true. The iPad mini was not at all simply a cheaper version of the iPad in the same way as this cheaper iPhone would be, it's a different product altogether (which was in fact my argument).
When rumoured the iPad mini was decried here for not having a purpose, not being necessary, following Android etc. in fact Steve Jobs was quoted as an authority on the subject. The naysayers decided that there were problems with the main iPad which needed to be addressed by the mini only after the mini was released. Fast forward a year and the same people are having the same arguments they made about the mini re the cheap iPhone.
If Apple does release a cheap iPhone (rather, when) you will agree that it has a different purpose to to expensive one - smaller lighter etc.
It will run apps - cheap Macs run most software.
It's the same thing. There are two models of iPad, there will be two models of iPhone. (Or more).
Nobody can tell if this is real, but c'mon, it's Apple, a company obsessed with making their products look sexy above anything else. Anyone can see this looks generic and dull, sir Jony Ive can certainly do better than this. Using cheaper materials doesn't mean the looks have to be cheap too.
This is absolutely horrible if true. I don't want Tim Cook and Co. LISTENING TO ANYONE but themselves. I don't want these idiot whiners to dictate company policy. We'll never have any future products that way. The iPhone would have had a keyboard and the iPad would have run OS X. And the mouse never would have gone into a consumer product.
Ugh, look at that thing. The case curves up around to the front; there's a lip there… ????
So how come the volume up down button spaces look like Samsung's design and which way will the supposed mute button be switched?

The design looks plausible to me, but I tend to think it's fake-ish.
It seems to me that if it were real it would have more than just "iPhone" on it.
Doesn't look like it could be a standalone case either.
On the other hand, I don't know how Apple handled that on other products that used polycarbonate cases
Don't know if anyone has noticed, but it appears to be floating....
It's looks like a case with a raised 'lips' for the corners.
If this is Apple design I'm going to be shocked.

The phone they've already discontinued and whose machines are no longer functioning, you mean?

I think it's interesting how most of the leaked Apple product images are blurrier than that one of Bigfoot.
Clearly camera technology hasn't improved in the 45 years since the Patterson-Gimlim film was taken¡
