Sony Playstation DVD Compatibility
I heard that the DVD player in the Sony Play Station does not play all DVDs. Does anyone know more about this?
I know, not exactly an Apple question but I've had some good advice on game consoles on here before.
Basically what I need to know is if it's possible to play Region 2-4 DVDs on Sony Play Station II. All of them like.

DVD Region X, from CodeJunkies, although intended to give you a region-free Playstation 2 apparently also resolves several conflicts with certain DVDs. It's only $15.
Newer Playstation 2s have improved compatibility. I've yet to find a DVD that won't work with mine.

Cool! Thanks! Prices over here for DVDs and CDs are ridiculous.

Wasn't there some EU investigation into price fixing of DVDs?
I've ordered a few DVDs from the UK, and they've been damned expensive before the additional mailing costs!

I've found www.play.com, based in the Channel Island to be quite good. They sell region 1 + 2. Though I buy so few DVDs I'm not really in touch with what's a bargain anymore.

I won't hold my breath for it
I ordered a few DVDs through amazon myself last year and the shipping costs are as ridiculous as the actual price. I mean, they send it in a box with a 3 pound stamp on it yet they charge about 7 quid for shipping. That's one hell of an expensive box
A bit like the Admin department at Apple who must all be on massive pay to justify 30 euros admin costs for a 10.2 update
