    "This won't be out until this comes out, which depends on this...."



    They're using a lot of words to tell you that we won't get Gigawire (which I still believe has little to do with Firewire as we know it), faster Firewire, USB 2, DDR, or updated graphics until the G5.



    Anyone who can't figure this out on his own has got his head up his ass. Obviously we're not going to get any serious updates to the motherboard architecture until we're on the next generation of machines (G5).

    USB 2.0 has one huge advantage over FireWire1, FireWire2, GigaWire, or any other bus technology... it can connect to USB 2.0 peripherals! If (when) the PC world adopts USB 2.0, and they will since it costs the same as USB 1.0, then there will be peripherals based on it -- lots of them. Since it won't cost Apple anything extra to put it in the machines (over the cost of USB 1.0), they will do it. They will probably wait until they can bump up FireWire performance, but that is just a matter of time now...
