Any known problems on Mainboard G3 versus USB or USB versus OS 9.2?

Hi, I seem to have problems with my Blue and White G3 versus USB; resulting in bootingproblems. I'm running OS 9.2.

When I connect a LaCie USB2 harddrive and I try to boot-up my computer, nothing happens. When I disconnect it and try again, everythings normal again. I have send back the drive; there seems to be nothing wrong with it.

Other problems that occur: when I go away to get some coffee and return: the computer doesn't recognize the keyboard anylonger i.a. I can only use the mouse to do actions... Only thing that fixes this, is a reboot...

Norton doesn't come up with anything and Disk first Aid neither.

Are these known problems - does anybody have suggestions?

Cause the keyboard problems are really getting annoying and I now have a more or less useless USB harddrive lying around...

I guess you could try installing this <a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58374&amp;SaveKCWindowURL=http:% 2F%2Fkbase.info.apple.com%2Fcgi-bin%2FWebObjects%2Fkbase.woa%2Fwa%2FSaveKCToHomePa ge&searchMode=Assisted&kbhost=kbase.info.apple.com &showButton=false&randomValue=100&showSurvey=false &sessionID=anonymous%7C164016110" target="_blank">firmware update</a>, if you haven't already. It resolves issues with PCI bus (on which, methinks, the USB ports draw).

It seems that I already have done this once - my firmware is up to date. Thanx though.
