The maximum usable data rate for Bluetooth is somewhere around 780 Kbps.
Wireless hands-free bluetooth kits use a special codec which was developed for bluetooth to transmit voice signals, which is implemented in bluetooth hardware. A high quality codec for transmitting audio (e.g. just transmitting the mp3 to the headphones) would require extra hardware in the headphones, making them too heavy, too expensive, and consume too much power. Nice idea though.
Adding BlueTooth capabilty to the iPod would be nice.
While like it has been stated here. It wouldn't be any good for the iPod's sound capapbility (the transfer rate is too slow), but it would be quite handy for the iPod's ?extra? capabilities (contacts, memos, calendars, games, etc).

Personally, if the iPod would have BlueTooth capability in the future, I would like see an iPod to be used as a passkey. So that you can only access your computer provide that you have your iPod and your voice as the oassword (don't catch a cold!).
Just place the iPod near the computer's BlueTooth antenna, and said the secret password (which can consist of soem words, or a full phrase).
It would be quite handy in a place where you want your computer free from physical outside input intrusion (llike a fellow co-worker tapping on your keyboard to fool around with your computer).

But Airport is much faster than Bluetooth, so perhaps Rendezvous over Bluetooth for streaming songs, etc. wouldn't be worth it.
