Great hook to get users to download the app. I've been putting off getting the digital copy for The Incredibles for a while. I'm all in. Thanks Apple & Disney!
Either way Disney is available on Vudu and new Disney titles can be redeemed on Vudu. Just use Vudu and view all your content in one place.
Ultraviolet is just another unnecessary app with another unnecessary digital format.
A total jive studio attempt to own digital media retail. Hollywood never owned physical media retail and did just fine as an industry. This present effort is doomed, they lack the tech savvy and development legs to make any of these efforts stick longer than a few years.
If they don't provide an iTunes redeemable version, I don't buy the blu-ray.

For anyone interested in building up their disney collections-
You end up with 9 movies for $80-$89. If you enroll with ones that include digital copies, you'll get the Blu ray, iTunes HD, and dvd. Heck- sell the Blu ray and dvd or even give it away and it's still half off buying them in iTunes.
Interesting development. "Anywhere" makes me wonder if Apple have allowed this as part of a wider move to prep for more of a push into the living room.

For the record, it pulls the movies from your iTunes account. If you buy a movie through the app, you are buying it in iTunes. The free Incredibles? Shows up in iTunes/iCloud. Shows up on the iPad, Apple TV. Also, and I did this with the approximately 20 SD movies I got as digital copies with Disney Bluray purchases, you can go into iTunes purchases and download HD versions. All this is is a Disney only iTunes front end.
Correct. This is a key point, all previous purchased SD versions of Disney/Marvel movies (and I have several) can be downloaded as HD without paying anything. You don't have to delete them first, just go to the iTunes quick link "Purchased" from the home page. Select Movies and show all. Make sure the option to download HD is on. Then find any movie icon with the download cloud in it and click to download.
With Disney Movies Anywhere, users can choose from a library of hundreds of videos, with more titles promised soon. Disney digital copies that accompany physical disc purchases can also be redeemed through the application.
Cool! I'm waiting for Song Of The South to show up on the catalogue soon!

Another app, yes, another format, no. You wind up with the same file you'd get from the iTunes Store.

I just sent an email to Warner Brothers letting them know that I won't be buying any more of their discs until they include iTunes-compatible versions in their combo packs, the way Universal does (they provide both iTunes AND UltraViiolet). Obviously the loss of my business means very little to them, but perhaps if enough people express their preference it will get their attention.

I am not sure where people get their info sometimes. It is pulling the files right from iTunes. It is your iTunes in the iCloud file it is pulling. Just another wrapper for it that enables things like the bonus features.
For example, I bought Frozen from iTunes yesterday. Before this app, I would have to watch "Get a Horse" in iTunes. Now I can (and did) launch this app, go to Frozen, and watch the bonus features, including Get a Horse. If you have a lot of Pixar movies, you will find that you now also have a lot of their shorts as bonus content.

I've done the same. I'd encourage you to email 21st Fox as starting January 1st this year they stopped including iTunes & UV copies and are UV only now.
Disney, Universal, HBO, and Paramount are the only Holdouts. Starz, Fox, WB, Dreamworks, Lionsgate, MGM, New Line, and Sony have dropped iTunes
Moreover, here is another way to remove drm protected from iTunes movies and TV Shows. It can help you convert iTunes M4V videos to MP4, WMV, FLV, etc then you can enjoy iTunes moves at anywhere and anytime.

Yet another app and another digital format.
Disney just needs to support UltraViolet.

So much for 'one world'
Americans are under the impression that the world is what's inside there borders and that everything out of there border is wastelands...

This is the cheapest way:

A remark like this had to come from Canada!
Ha! Same here.

My bad, I totally missed that! LOL
Anyone else getting. 'Unable to connect accounts '?
