Mac Stocking Fillers
Hi all,
Well that time of year is nearly upon us all and I'm looking for suggestions for cool mac related gadgets for around $50 or less.
My contributions are, the Griffin Technology Powermate, it's a sexy looking volume knob for your mac! $45 that glows blue and does other spangly things! Although they're out of stock right now!

And the Kensington FlyLight:
<a href="http://www.maccessories.com/products/pro_c1010.html" target="_blank">FlyLight</a>
If like me you do a lot of work in low lighting and have difficulty making out the keys with the white on black colour scheme, why not take advantage of the USB ports at the side of your keyboard! I have one of these and find it tremendously useful!
Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated folks!

My recommendations would be:
<a href="http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/remote/" target="_blank">Keyspan Digital Media Remote</a>: Though it's getting a little long in the tooth, with that whole translucent ice look.
<a href="http://www.harmanmultimedia.com/shop_detail.html?cart=HK2_1008081254335810&sku=I-SUB&id1=1" target="_blank">iSub</a> (for iMac Owners): As soon as Apple works out controlling subwoofer volume in OS X, it'll be awesome.
Any any quirky add-on from <a href="http://www.macimports.com" target="_blank">Mac Imports</a>, I bought the Leatherette palm rests for my iBook.
But, my gift to myself is going to be the VST bus-powered CDRW--yeah it's more than 50 bucks, so what?
However, I work with a guy who recently bought the Harman/Kardon SoundSticks and he actually has a little gray volume knob actually ON the iSub portion of it!
I've looked all over my iSub, just to see if I had one tucked away, but no luck.
So do I have to go spend $199 (and somehow get rid of a perfectly functioning - under OS 9 anyway - iSub) just so I can enjoy iTunes under OS X and actually hear some bass?
Because right now, it's like I don't even HAVE an iSub. The only way I can hear any bass while in OS X is to jack up the entire system volume, but it's horribly harsh and loud.
Before, in OS 9, I could have iTunes playing at a nice, comfortable level and still have plenty of bass coming through.
What a stupid shortcoming. How possibly hard can it be to include a separate software volume controller for the iSub? They did it in their OLD, "non-cutting-edge" OS.
Another perfect of example of "one step forward, one step backwards somewhere else" that Apple routinely excels at.
That and the lack of Software Base Station support are the two things OS X lacks that they should be smacked for leaving out. They've basically, in one fell swoop, made iSub owners completely frustrated AND forced tons of people who were using the AirPort Software Base Station set-up go out and have to spend $299 out of the blue for a stupid flying saucer Base Station when the solution before was working just fine, thank you.
