An LCD iMac covers all the phrases, except:

"To Boldly Go Where No PC Has Gone Before"

    &

"Beyond The Rumor Sites, Way Beyond"

These two phrases are the two that make me think most. There has got to be something more than just an LCD iMac.

The top is the shrunk down spymac, the bottom is the apple... it's not TOO incredibly far off...

why should anyone care if they got the slogan an hour before it was put out on the site???????? spymac has never been a reliable source in the past so why all of a sudden should we start kissing their a$$ and think of them as such?? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Haven't you read the thread? Nearly no one is kissing their ass...

It seems like you think that if we're not badmouthing macspy than we're praising them..

    who cares anyways.

My guess is someone not-so-signifigant at Apple got wind of it and started sending it to every rumor site out there. Being in Germany, spymac was the only one awake to publish it before midnight. The iWalk is an obvious hoax by now, the other rumors they posted are copies of other credibleish rumors on other sites but have flaws in them as well. Something as small as this shouldn't really boost their crudability for everything else especially given the overwhelming evidence. If MOSR had posted this an hour before, should we suddenly start to believe in doechedron (or whatever it is) G5s with impossible SPEC results and dual processor titaniums now?

Its more that spymac has been posting specs galore and the whole iWalk fiasco, that this proves that MAYBE they DO have inside info, if so, then I don't know about this expo, is it all hype or the tools for the next growth...spurt will hurt stretching out no rehearsal, charge up the photon, magnificant dispersal, supernovas and fly girls, hanging around like they own the ground, sticking up for this clown, just cause he's got a crown, but thats not fresh, in a message not too direct, the plan is going flawlessly, so sit back and you will see the Macworld epihany, g5 jewels classier than tiffany's,and of course the new iMacs only 1499 that is until you add tax, its the macworld to end all macworlds, the apocolypse, releasing fresh gear While your chewing on chocolate chips

    hehehe, iRap

Does no one pay attention!?!? Spymac DID NOT POST any info that was on any other rumor site.. sorry but this gets me mad when people use false info against a site. The story about the iBooks said that Combo drives would be standard. Show me another site that said this? Exactly. Just because they said "colors" does not mean anything.

And about them copying specs from other sites... as far as I know, the only specs that are even remotely copied are the imac ones from AI.. BIG DEAL! Their Powermac info is new and was not in the said thread. Is it not possible that spymac simply has the same source as the person who posted that message?????? SO WHAT DID THEY COPY? It seems like they're the only ones posting new rumors lately, and for that I will continue to visit them.

And why has no one mentioned the tape under every 10th chair thing? Believable?

No, I don't think this will happen. At MWNY when they introed the new mouse EVERYONE got one. Why would they be picky now? I mean they are not going to give away something that costs more then $50 to make, there would be riots for them... If only 1/10 of the audience got goodies, I would say that people would get physical. Not exactly good PR.

"They didn't post any rumors that were on any other rumor site", then "does not mean anything"? Sure, except they use "you heard it here first". Too bad, other people beat them to it.

What about spymac creating false products to fool people? What. They're the good guys?

What if iWalk actually was announced? They'd be like the GOD of rumor sites. (of course we all know this isn't going to happen, right?)

I was wondering about that too....

    Any suspects?

Of course I don't "work" for Spymac, I'm just a fan of the site and they have been friendly and responsive when I email them, so it just angers me to see fake stuff.

And no, I don't think they are the good guys for making stuff up, but my point is I don't they deserve to be called names for entertaining me.

So suicide bombers don't deserve to be called names because they entertain Bin Laden? How exactly do you apply that logic to other people here. Judging from the nature of someone's past posts, me thinks too that someone here works for spymac too.

I have no idea how you made that connection, but it's time I get back to my homework

Cool. Let's start a McArthy-ist witch hunt to root them out.

    Oops-- forgot the sarcasm tags.

Here's the issue with all rumor sites:

Sometimes they get good info, sometimes they get bad info, sometimes they just make it up (except for AI of course, who are infallible).

You just have to decide witch is witch, er, which, with SpyMac. Now, go to bed.

What, we should all leave them alone just because they entertain *you* even at the cost of downright fraud, misinformation, and mishype against thousands of other people?

Rumor sites like AI and Thinksecret get stuff wrong occasionally, but they don't do it on purpose and they do a visible amount of fact checking. I saw the iWalk mentioned on TV 3 times today (twice on Techtv) promoted as a real Apple prototype, not to count all the news articles out so far. There has to be a line somewhere.
