Can't load .AIFF's in Garageband's AUSampler
Hello Apple Insider,
It seems that Garageband's AUSampler plugin can't load .AIFF files but it can load .AIF files, which I found very strange because .AIFF and .AIF files are theoretically the same.
Is there anyway to load .AIFF's into Garageband and use them as a sampler instrument?
Thanks in advance,
- Jason

Try just changing the filename suffix from .aiff to .aif . Try with one first.
Using a .AIF will allow the sample to load into the AUSampler.
Is there any way I can batch-rename the audio files so that I way I won't have to go one-by-one re-naming the extension from .AIFF to .AIF?
There's a batch renaming app here for the Mac (2nd link):
https://app.box.com/shared/riqei9vpnl
You can just drag all the files in and choose replace extension and type aif. Hit the show new names to preview what it's going to do and if it's ok, hit rename. It can do folders recursively.

This is a PowerPC application; Mac's no longer support PowerPC apps -- do you know of any other application (preferably free) that can achieve the same thing?
Thanks for the link though.
I thought that link had the latest version, it was updated to x86, there's a version here that is x86:

Ah thank you! Now it works.
I appreciate the help greatly. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to go one-by-one renaming all of my files.
Thanks!
