Is the store really worth a 3 hour trip?

If you're going to drive 3 hours to come to the Palisades store you might as well go to the Tice's Corner store too. It's only about 20-25 minutes south from Palisades in Woodcliff Lakes NJ. Real easy to get to too. At least then you'll be going to 2 computer stores.
Although the Apple Store alone really isn't worth a 3 hour trip "just for that", the Palisades Mall is pretty cool. I think its like the 4th largest mall in America (anyone want to confirm that?)
But you can ride the ferris wheel, go ice skating, catch an imax movie, a regular movie, eat at Mickey Mantle's or the Brazilian BBQ place with all the dead animals out front, play some video games at Dave & Busters and of course, shop.
For more fun, go the fourth floor and stand in front of the movie theater....you'll feel the entire floor shake. When you see how big this place is and feel that floor shake, it will freak you out.
You can also mark a little spot outside on the wall and come back next year to see how the mall is sinking into the ground a little more every year.
And if you're really bored, you can stop in front of the Victoria Secret's store and gawk at the giant half naked women posters in the window.
Whatever you do...DO NOT GET THE FALAFEL at the Greek place in the Food Court...oi!!!

I feel so much better. I always thought I was going crazy when I felt the mall shake. No one else ever did. It's not just by the movies, it's also on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
I think that it's the 3rd biggest in the US. At least that's what the kids at my school who've been living here since it opened say. I dunno tho.
And Macintosh, when you come I'll give you a tour of the mall and stuff. It really is a cool place. It's huge. The only problem is that it's really ugly.

Make sure you show him the 4, yes 4 Bath and Body Works in the mall!! There's one on every floor!!
The first time I was there, I thought I was walking in circles or something.
Oh and take him to the Rainforest Cafe before it closes. I give that place 1 year before its out of business. It lost its thrill. The food sucks and its over priced.
Oh and EmAn.....Shouldn't you be in school right now????

I know, I couldn't believe the 4 Bath and Body Works. It's just crazy. And I hate the smell of them...it's so girly .
Didn't the Rainforest Cafe already close? Considering it hasn't been open since 2001 I think it did.
I'm not in school because it's midterm week and I don't have any tests today so I don't have to go.
how about a store in New Mexico...yeah, right, like that will ever happen...they would probably consider it an "international" store....but we do have a very nice new mall about 1 to 2 miles from this huge Intel fabrication plant that makes alot of the pent chips...would be great to have an apple store that close to the enemy....g
right now the closest store is in Texas...about 9 hours from here which is too long....plus, like i said, it's in Texas....two reasons not to go
should get a nice response from the texans for that comment....g

It would be great if a Mac user set off a bomb or something next to that Intel place
trying to get me in trouble? now, for the next two years, if anything happens to that plant i will be rustled up so quick by the feds it will make my head spin.....luckily i'm explosives-impaired in the learning dept....g

Let me try that again. I'll be the first to reply to the Texas part. I've got nothing against New Mexico. I was born in Albuquerque and I visit New Mexico every chance I get, but having an Apple Store only 45 minutes from my house overcomes a LOT of objections about Texas!
I couldn't imagine going to an apple store just to be there, I mean I am a total apple lover, but it just seems a bit funny to goto a store where you can do what exactly?
is it totally free to do whatever you want on the display computers(that they have to offer at least)
in a guitar center sort of way(just walk around the store playing basses and guitars and drums and MPC 2000 XLs and korg karmas and tritons and I want to goto guitar center
at anyrate, what exactly does one DO at an apple store, I could see what a pc user would do, but a rabid mac user? that already knows everything about all of apples products
I guess my thoughts on it are affected by the feeling of inferiority when you try and play with tibooks and stuff at the massive PC dominated compusa
I suppose the genius bar could be interesting, have arguments on the advantages of os 8.6 to os X

Well when I go I usually play around with the new iMacs, look at the software, and just talk to the employees and sometimes other customers. It's not as fun as it used to be, but it's still cool.
Comments
anyone know when the SOHO store is coming? When it does, I hope to get my father hooked...
I think I've read that it'll be opening in the summer, but I don't think that it was definite.
