Mr. Murbot, I fear you may be suffering from a <a href="http://www.biologicalunhappiness.com/mental_health/compulsive_shopping.htm"; target="_blank">Compulsive Shopping</a> disorder, most commonly associated with women and shoes, but in your case it's Apple Macs. On page 7 of this thread there's a G4 iMac, on page 8 a G4 PowerBook (with Airport), on page 11 an iBook, and on page 17 yet another iBook (this time without Airport, but with a wireless router instead). For the sake of your family and friends, may I suggest you seek professional help, before it's too late?

Did a big upgrade on my PC (PIII600 512RAM). Swapped out the Voodoo5 (may a god grant rest to her soul) and replaced it with a Radeon 7500 with dual output support.

Then I picked up a couple of NEC 1545v's and Im in heaven. So easy on the eyes... It also works well to swap the monitor cable over to the iBook so I have side by side PC/Mac.

    <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/imcfly/PhotoAlbum30.html"; target="_blank">new pics</a>

2048 x768 is cool. I hardly even notice the bevel on these monitors they are so thin. Now I just need to paint that room...

    Later y'all

    New member to my setup

    A BRAND NEW Sony LCD

Got it off from eBay. I actually wasn't planning to get it but the deal was just too good and that would be stupid not to go for it. It's sealed in the box and the seller also locates in Vancouver! That means I don't have to pay for shipping.

    Guess the price.

    $300!

Also in the same duo-grey tone as my CRT. Matching setup. Can't complain

And the second video card I bidded from eBay also arrived today. Costs me $10.

    Xmas is coming early

OK...It was cool to see for awhile, but damn Murbot...you do have something screwed up.

What's the average length of stay for a mac at your place? I see that you don't actually use it except to take a pic and then get rid of it...

Do you sell them? Trade them in? What kind of reseller takes your trades? I mean, surely you lose some money on the deal!

He got rid of the eMac a while ago. He had an iBook after.

I've come to the conclusion that Murbot is a one man Apple reseller in his own right, the only difference being he opens the boxes and plays, sorry tests, the equipment before selling it on.

He must single handedly account for a significant percentage of the traffic on eBay.

He sells them on eBay and usually doesn't lose any money.

I did have an 867 ages ago, but my last tower was a single 800.

My last 2 computers were the G4 700 eMac, and most recently the G3 700 iBook.

I have started doing more "work" with them, that's the reason I dumped the chicklet. I was ALWAYS kicking the crap out of it - it couldn't keep up to me - and I'm not exactly a power user. A day of heavy Photoshop and Illustrator almost made me put my fist through the damn thing.

So yeah, my first dual processor G4. Should be like quite a speed jump from the iBook.

    I'm keeping this one forEVAR.

Oh yeah, lose money? Me? MUAHAHAHAHAHA Doesn't happen, dude. I get insane prices when I buy these things, and always do extremely well selling them.

We're also buying our first digital video camera for Christmas this year, that's the other reason I needed to change - editing video. The poor iBook would have been tossed against a wall for sure.

    December 2002

Murbot: "F*CK! This tower is so loud! I can't stand it!"

    January 2003

Murbot: "I just realized that I don't have any talent on video stuff. I think I should just go back to the iBook. It's good enough for my need."

    February 2003

Murbot: "Ar.....I want to try doing some audio stuff and iBook isn't able to do it. But I still want portability....I am getting a PowerBook"

    March 2003

Murbot: "I am selling my PowerBook....but I don't know what I am going to pick. HELP ME DECIDE!"

Maybe you should start being a eBay buy/sell agent for the rest of us.
