    Pointless. I don't see how this will help them at all in the console market? It's a niche product for a niche Linux market. Are we going to see "PlayStation2" as a host-type in open source software?



    Consoles are sold at a loss, selling a console that won't be used for games makes hardly any sense. Does Sony think they can sell PS2s to geeks and expect them to buy more games?

    Maybe Sony really can see a post-Microsoft future and this is part of their strategy for the next decade. Still doesn't make alot of sense though.
